I_C_U_P_S.sid    "Icups - my first published work... I had written the tune as a demo, and I had been trading with Bogg for a few years, and I had re-written his tune just to see how I would have taken his initial idea and run with it myself. Anyways, I had sent disks with a load of tunes on to all the major software companies at the time. Firebird contacted me, they wanted to use Icups. I told them at the time that it was kind of a rip off of Bogg's Detergent, but they were quite happy to offer to buy it. They offered me 150 pounds, and then when someone pointed out again to them that it was based on Bogg's tune, they gave him half the money too which I was quite happy with." (BL)
If_I_Was.sid
If_This_Is_Madness.sid
Impossamole.sid    Due to a bug in the game code, when the game switched from the title screen to the high score table, it placed forty or so incorrect bytes into the music routine, making the theme tune bug and play one of the voices at the wrong pitch. Leitch has confirmed that this rip is bug-free. "OK, so they asked me to do a dancey remix of Rob Hubbards classic C64 theme and they wanted scratch sounds in it. I went over the top. I'm sorry Rob." (BL)

Just_Call_Me_Ben.sid    "Just trying to sound like Ben Daglish." (BL)
Live_To_Tell.sid    "Tone of the MILLIONS of demos we produced leading up to the ICUPS purchase, I was spewing out 3 or more tunes a day at this point, so what if it doesnt sound like the original, I DIDNT have a copy of the original to listen to, I didnt know what it sounds like,.. I dont even like Madonna... Can u tell ?" (BL)
Living_OK.sid
Marauder.sid    "Written while I was still living in Scotland, Robert Magowan wrote the game and Mark Kelly took all the credit, got the good job and moved to California... Cant blame him really :) I think this was the first time I'd done anything on the 64 that was vaguely acceptable." (BL)
Miami_Vice.sid
Mindsmear-Extra_Long_Vers.sid
Mindsmear.sid    "Written for the ZZap 64 Mindsmear April Fools Day competition. I got 2nd prize... Years later I met up with the Zzap reviewers who had made the decision as to who won.. The reason the other guy won was because he'd written like 20 tunes and sent them all in so they let him win for doing so much work, but they all agreed mine was better ! :) HAHAHAH I've waited 11 years to tell that story!" (BL) ("the other guy" = Anthony Lees)

Peter_Gunn.sid    Appears to have been influenced by the 1986 Art Of Noise cover.
Postman_Pat.sid    Interestingly, Alternative used exactly the same music for 'Postman Pat 2' as well. "The Highlight of my career... Actually there was one point where the top 3 titles in the UK had my music in them.. Silkworm was one, Postman Pat was another, and I'm damned if I can remember what the 3rd was... probably Emlyn Hughes Soccer on re-release." (BL)

Shrink_to_Fit.sid    It's called "Shrink to Fit" because it was featured in a famous Jeans advert, which is why there is the police siren at the beginning (the advert featured a police car at the beginning). (Info from Chris Abbott)
Silkworm.sid    Almost all copies of the game had a bug in the tape loader routine which would mean the music corrupts itself around the 1:20 mark. This version is now bug free. Not a cover of the arcade original, but definitely inspired by it.
Sophistry_war.sid    The tunes in this SID were meant to be for the game Sophistry, programmed by Mark Kelly of the team Aracnum Developments (whom Barry was also a member of at the time). According to Mark Kelly, the game was to be published by Hewson but due to licencing disagreements with Firebird (Sophistry being similar to Firebird's Zolyx) the game was cancelled.

Tenko.sid    "No it wasnae me, someone else must have written my name... LOL OK, OK it was me.. I did the music in about 20 minutes and my mate drew the picture in even less time, TADA, instant Commodore 64 demo... Fame fortune and a life of torture ahead of u for churning out shite like that.. The out of tune pings were our way of saying "Yeah this is shit, but we did it"... which is more than can be said for others..." (BL)
